Licensed Installation for Network User Accounts

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).

If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.

Hello,

We have a 16 concurrent user license for our Music room which now has 16 Windows PCs. Previously we had 15 iMacs which were activated with the same license. We have Windows 10 Pro Education 21H1 installed with Synthesia version 10.8.5686

Is there a way to activate the Synthesia Installation on each of the computers so that the license is recognised regardless of which student(user account) logs in. Currently the behaviour seems to be that the license is only added for the user who is logged in. So far this has been the admin account for the network. When a new student logs into the computer with their individual network account the software is unlicensed.

Thanks

John

The information on the Classroom Setup Guide page may be helpful:
  • That page has a "Classroom Unlocker" download that you can run once to unlock Synthesia for all users on a computer.
  • The page also describes how to choose and copy Synthesia settings files to a system-wide Synthesia folder on each computer (C:\ProgramData\Synthesia).

(Where this page comes from: On the Synthesia home page, if you click the Unlock button and scroll down, near the bottom there is a part that says "If you'll be using Synthesia in your classroom, we have a Classroom Guide to help you get things up and running in a networked environment.")
